Description
The FKM Copper guideline was published in 2025 as FKM-Vorhaben Nr. 621, Heft 354, from VDMA Verlag. The guideline can be used for base material and defines the analytical strength assessment of components made of copper alloys. Static and fatigue strength can be investigated. The following materials are included as wrought or cast versions:
- Pure or low alloy copper
- Brass
- Bronze
- Aluminum bronze
LIMIT® Implementation
The procedure in FKM Copper is closely related to the FKM guideline, 7th edition, with specific adaptions to copper alloys. In LIMIT® the FKM Copper procedure is integrated in the FKM7 assessment type. The material library also includes copper alloys. The results are available as degrees of utilization. The FKM Copper implementation is released for the first time in LIMIT2026.
