The loading definition is performed in two steps. At first the user defines the Finite Element results to be read from the FEA result file. From these Finite Element results the load cases for the stress assessment can be derived using the superposition principle or using only weighting factors for single load cases.
Furthermore the user might like to define load spectra, combining load case and cycle information or by applying the internal rain flow count algorithm on load histories.
The most important features are:
- Import of Finite Element results from different result files
- Superposition of imported data
- Definition of spectra: step wise, using rainflow count
- Rainflow count according to ASTM E1049-85
The standard procedure is to apply the rainflow count on the stress history at each assessment point of the structure. If only one dominant force acts on the entire structure, a rainflow count can be applied to the load history a priori to the assessment. This way a load spectra is calculated, which can be used for each assessment point.
