LIMIT® basically includes three different types of strength assessments needed to design your structure for an appropriate lifetime. These are static strength to resist loads occurring a few times, finite life fatigue strength to design your structure for a desired lifetime and infinite life fatigue strength to achieve an unlimited lifetime, respectively. These three assessment types can be identified in a corresponding stress-life curve (S-N curve), also known as Wöhler curve.
- Static strength
- Finite life fatigue
- Infinite life fatigue (endurance limit)
The following figure indicates the different assessment types for a structure ranging from static assessments to infinite life assessments.
