The FKM guideline defines analytical stress assessments for general purpose engineering applications. It includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and cast aluminum. Base material and weld seams can be analysed with respect to static strength, constant amplitude and variable amplitude fatigue strength.
LIMIT includes all features of the FKM guideline, including local stresses, nominal and structural stress concepts and effective notch stress approaches. The results are available as degrees of utilization.
Fields of Application
- general mechanical engineering
- fun rides such as roller coaster vehicles
- railway applications
For detailed information on strength assessment according to the FKM guideline (describing the static and fatigue strength assessment of base material and welded structures) with LIMIT please refer to the Strength Assessment According to the FKM Guideline ducument (.pdf) or contact our LIMIT support.
