The FKM guideline defines analytical stress assessments for general purpose engineering applications. It includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and cast aluminum. Base material and welds can be analysed with respect to static strength, constant amplitude and variable amplitude fatigue strength.
LIMIT includes all features of the FKM guideline, including local stresses, nominal and structural stress concepts and effective notch stress approaches. The results are available as degrees of utilization.
Typical fields of application are: general mechanical engineering, fun rides such as roller coaster vehicles and railway applications.
Here you get detailed information on strength assessment according to the FKM guideline (describing the static and fatigue strength assessment of base material and welded structures) with LIMIT. Read here (pdf).
