On January 23, the Swiss University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil held a workshop on “Calculation and verification of weld seams”. Well-known speakers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were invited to show the state of the art. Our Dr. Friedl gave a lecture on “Strength assessment of the welded rail structure of a roller coaster”.
The aim of the workshop was to illuminate the questions raised above using specific examples from the speakers. In the final discussion, they had the rare opportunity to discuss questions about the design and verification of welds with the experts and to benefit from everyone’s great experience!
